- The procedure involves application of a skin numbing cream for 30 mins to the areas requiring treatment.
- Following removal of the anaesthetic cream Hyaluronic acid will be applied to the skin and the microneedling pen will then be used on the skin in circular motions.
- Hylauronic acid is a highly intensive moisturiser that hydrates and plumps the skin.
- Immediately after the procedure your skin will be red as though you have a sunburn and may feel warmer and tighter than usual.
- This will gradually subside over the following 24-48 hours.
- A post procedure recovery gel will help to soothe and calm the skin.
- It is important to hydrate and nourish the skin with adequate water intake and nutritious diet as this treatment induces the body’s wound healing response therefore all nutrients will be brought to this area aiding in healing and rejuvenation.
- Use tepid water to clean the skin for following 48 hours and dry gently.
- Always ensure hands and towels are clean when touching the treated areas.
- Avoid saunas, stream rooms, excessive exercise or hot showers until the redness has subsided.
- Men should avoid shaving until redness has subsided.
- Application of an Spf 50 sunscreen is required every 2 hours if outdoors while receiving microneedling treatments as it can increase pigmentation in the skin.

- Medications that cause UV sensitivity such as Tetracycline as can increase hyperpigmentation
- Roaccutane- should not have treatment until 6 months after stopping the medication
- Omega 3- increases potential for and severity of bruising and petechiae
